The short version
This website has no advertising, no analytics, and sets no tracking cookies. The only personal information it collects is what you type into the contact form, and that is used for one thing: replying to you.

What we collect, and why
The contact form
When you submit the contact form we receive your name, email address, and message, plus your company, telephone number and project budget if you choose to provide them.
We use this only to respond to your enquiry and, if we go on to work together, to carry out that work. The lawful basis is legitimate interests — you have asked us to get in touch, and replying is what you would reasonably expect.
Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to deal with them, and no longer than two years after our last contact, unless you become a client — in which case business records are kept for six years to meet HMRC requirements.
Server logs
Our hosting provider records standard technical information for every visit, including IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This is used to keep the site running and to protect it from abuse. The lawful basis is legitimate interests. These logs are short-lived and are not used to build any profile of you.
Cookies
This website does not set any cookies of its own, and there is no analytics or advertising tracking. If you open the map on the contact page, Google may set cookies — see below.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising. We use these services:
- Cloudflare — hosts and delivers the site, and processes server logs on our behalf.
- Resend — delivers contact-form submissions to our inbox as email.
- Google Fonts — the site loads one typeface (Oswald) from Google's servers, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads.
- Google Maps — the contact page embeds a map. It only loads when you reach it, and Google may set cookies and receive your IP address at that point. Google's own privacy policy applies:policies.google.com/privacy.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- ask what personal data we hold about you, and get a copy
- have inaccurate data corrected
- have your data deleted
- object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it
- ask us to transfer it to someone else
To exercise any of these, emailinfo@bigswebdesign.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office atico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Children
This website is aimed at businesses and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13 through this site.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes affecting how we use your information will be made clear.
